This summer we will be offering a comprehensive summer training program for Downingtown East cross country athletes wishing to get in shape for their fall endeavors. We will meet weekday mornings from 8:00-10:00am, beginning Monday, June 24th and ending Friday, August 2nd (6 weeks).

 

We will not hold sessions on July 4th & 5th.

 

Each participant will receive the following:

 

  • Summer Endurance Program T-Shirt (if registered by Friday, June 7th)

  • Weekly email containing physical/mental focus points and week’s training plan

  • Individualized conditioning sessions

  • Technical analysis of running form

  • Goal setting and group sport psychology sessions

  • Variety of base, tempo, and speed training  

  • Ancillary training targeted at coordination, flexibility, general strength, and power

  • Weekly verbal evaluation for continued personal growth

  • A positive, fun, and professional educational atmosphere and environment

  • Much more!

 

Participation in this summer endurance program is strictly voluntary. Our top priority is to provide the opportunity for each young athlete to develop physically, psychologically, and socially in order to reach their desired goals, as well as prepare themselves for their upcoming competitive challenges. 

 

The Arya Athletics Summer Endurance Program will be held at various locations throughout the local area. Locations will be listed in each ‘Weekly Email’.

Locations:

Exton Park (Chester Valley Trail Parking Area) – 140 Church Farm Ln, Exton, PA 19341

​

Bryn Coed Preserve - 1869 Flint Rd, Chester Springs, PA 19425

​

Pine Creek Park - 1488 Yellow Springs Rd, Chester Springs, PA 19425

​

Kardon Park (Duck Ponds) – Green St and E Pennsylvania Ave, Downingtown, PA 19335

​

Downingtown East High School – 50 Devon Drive, Exton, PA 19355

 

Costs:

 

$120 - in-person participation and full benefit of everything listed above

$75 - weekly emails containing physical/mental focus points and weekly training plan only (will not receive a t-shirt and cannot join us at the in-person training sessions)

 

Registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. All participants must have all registration forms including signed waivers and registration fees prior to participation.

About Coach Tobelmann:

 

Coach Tobelmann is a former Division I cross country/track & field athlete for Seton Hall University and the University of Houston. He graduated summa cum laude from California University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Exercise Science and top of his class with an MS in Applied Sport Science and MS in Sport Psychology from PennWest University. He holds a Level II Certified Speed Specialist certification through NASE, as well as a Level I Coaching certification through USATF. Over his 12 years of coaching cross country/track and field he has helped both teams and individuals to garner school, league, and county records and championships, as well as mentoring many athletes to realize their dreams of competing at the collegiate level. Most recently he earned All-Area Coach of the Year in 2023 while coaching the Downingtown East boys cross country team to All-Region honors, and the girls to their best District finish in 8 years.
